Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

CDC is the leading national institution regarding public health care services in the U.S. It is a federal agency that operates under the Health as well as the Human Services Department with their headquarters near Atlanta, Georgia. Human beings encounter a lot of challenges, and so the Healthcare is one of the main sectors that have a lot of problems when it comes to people’s survival (Sievert et al., 2013). As a result, CDC aims mainly at protecting public health and safety among different individuals not only in the United States but also internationally. It accomplishes this through controlling and preventing of diseases, disabilities and also injuries.

As an organization, it has workers and conducts activities which need capital for the smooth running of the organization. Therefore, the only source is mainly from the people through tax payment. As a result, it is the organization that aims to improve healthcare services thus improving people life. Therefore, it is not considered as a waste of the taxpayers’ money.

The Mission

CDC has a 24/7 operation system to protect people from safety, health as well as any threats concerning security. They not only consider certain measure but work aiming at protecting lives of people. CDC also fights against disease through supporting societies to combat health-related problems. As a result, they increase health security through saving lives and protecting people from health threats. To accomplish this mission, they conduct critical sciences investigation and then provide health information that acts to ensure that people are protected against health threats (Sievert et al., 2013).

Central Role to the Public Health

CDC has a lot of important roles that it plays in our societies. The following are some of the roles that it plays;

1. Ensures the Availability of the Critical Strategic Epidemiology

One essential function that the CDC can play as an international public health provider is mainly to provide relevantly and also scientifically valid epidemiological information that helps in making decisions and policies that tend to affect all aspects related to the large health system. CDC achieves positive health outcomes through providing the right kind of care to those in need, in the right ways and also at the right moment (Sievert et al., 2013). Therefore, their evidence is of help when it comes to the formulation of appropriate health policies, methods of designing and implementing effective interventions and lastly places and reasons of investing in human and financial resources.

2. Builds Health-Related Programs

One of the primary and essential programs from the CDC is Improving Public Health Management for Action (IMPACT). It is a program that aims at building a cadre of high-trained public health managers in the whole world (Williams & Reeves, 1993). Through it, different countries can translate research, theories and also any scientific innovation to a fruitful and beneficial public health action. With that, CDC accomplishes its mission and objectives (Sievert et al., 2013). Other than that, IMPACT helps to improve the capacity of health systems in the entire world through developing a workforce of skilled public health managers. As a result, CDC can keep the world safe and also secure from emerging and known infectious disease threats.

3. Offers Job Opportunities

CDC is a big organization with approximately fifteen thousand employees. As a result, it benefits its employees in different ways. Its workforce is diverse as the world itself. Therefore, CDC promotes an environment, where its workers embrace their differences and also strengthens any bond that results from their similarities. Most of its global health vacancies tend to fall under four different jobs (Williams & Reeves, 1993). These positions include epidemiologist; public health advisers, health scientist and also medical officers. 4. Education
One of the best ways in which CDC educates people is through the publication of yellow book also known as the Information for International Travel. It is available in both printed form and also online (Williams & Reeves, 1993). It includes current health guidelines, recommendations for any vaccination and also information on different travel destinations. CDC also provides healthcare education to improve health care system throughout the world. Other than that, it also offers grants for some organizations each year to bring health, safety and also awareness to most of the communities in the world. Through these methods, CDC can successfully improve health sector through creating awareness regarding health systems.

Conclusion

CDC depends mainly on the revenues from its people. It uses that revenue to conduct all of its activities. As a result, it can successfully improve health sector throughout the entire world. As a result, the money from people revenue and tax payment is valid in social, political and also economic lives of individuals. Therefore, we cannot consider this condition as a waste of people’s tax because we all benefit from their services in one way or another even if it is not direct. Health problem is in each part of the world. They tend to different hence need to be solved in a variety of ways. As a result, CDC conducts its investigation and finds solutions to these problems thus benefiting people around the world. Personally, I firmly believe that CDC is active in how it conducts its activities.
